So in late 1941 Germany had to go to the aid of Italian forces who were taking a bit of a pounding from the British 8th Army and thus the famed Afrika Korps was born and JG27 went with it as part of its air cover. On arrival in Libya their Me 109 E-7's were in standard Lufwaffe European camouflage of the time and must have stood out like sore thumbs in the sandy environment. So I've simply said "what if" one of the pilots had simply decided to use some Italian Giallo Mimetico that he found lying around the airfield they were based on to cover up the RLM 70 of the splinter camouflage ? I think it would have been quite effective.

So here is that Me 109 E-7 Trop, Black 8, I/JG27 flown by Lt Werner Schroer, Libya 1941.

This is one of AZ Models new Me 109 E boxings, and they've done a multitude of them including a couple of whiff's.  Built from the box it's a very nice build, goes together well and the detail is good. Transfers are straight from the box and some can come off the backing paper as soon as they spy the water at times, whilst others take their time, but that's the only criticism I have of the kit. Indeed, I've bought 4 more, so must like it.

So, a nice, relaxing build and recommended to all if you like your Me 109 E's. Their F, G and K models are good as well, but they've stepped up a notch with these.

So that's an RW aircraft with a Whiffed colour scheme, yes?

It looks great, and pretty feasible  from the backstory point of view.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I did not knw well AZ models, but Google showed me https://www.scalemates.com/fr/kits/az-model-az7663-messerschmitt-bf-109e-7-trop--1316813
(At first reading I thought that might have been a Bf-109A Zwilling, but no) :-\ <_<

Uh, the E-7 Trop may have been RW but the E-7Z Trop was actually whif: <_<

Yup Kit. Everything straight out of the box and I've simply replaced the RLM 70 with Giallo Mimetico. I just wanted something simple and relaxing.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Very nice build.
The red lines on the wings are to mark the wing folding point,I suppose? For a  fold Grumman-style. ;)
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Sometimes NOT being challenged by a build is good for you.   I hope that this high quality build has left you suitably tranquil.
