In alternate reality, Japan did not follow through with their F-2 development due to cost overruns. Instead it selected F/A-18 to replace its aging F-1. When it comes to electronic warfare, despite many expect that Japan will take up E/A-18G like Australia, Japan went for a different route. It converted some of its F/A-18D to E/A-18D with parts used by E/A-18G and some indigenous technologies. The reason for this route is unclear, many believe it's because Japan is adamant to restart its indigenous aircraft program.

lt does indeed. I love that you've straightened out the curvaceous counter shading, that's an inspired  move.
Whatever.

Yeah, the straightened out camo actually turned out better than I thought. Here's another one together with my non-what if RAAF F/A-18A+

Pretty! But, then the Japanese tend to do "pretty" schemes.

Yup, JASDF is one of the few left that still do colorful scheme, but the JASDF F-35 will soon kill this off as well  :-\

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That's come out well
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That is spiffy!! I like it.

When I read F-1 up there I thought of the Dassault Mirage F1. Wouldn't that look nice in blue?

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?
