The 1/72 Mach2 Avro York C1 has a few problems with it, with perseverance you can create something decent.
In the past I have used the Airfix Avro Lancaster for the wings,  engines,  landing gear and interior cockpit details. Aftermarket parts such as the Avro Lincoln tail fins and white metal main landing gear. I have experimented with the Revell Avro Shackleton AEW.2 's wings,  engines,  and landing gear. With the radome fitted above the forward fuselage.
Other ideas include: a Gunship,  float plane and C.O.D. with an arrestor hook  plus rear swing door for rear loading and unloading. Nightingale and a refuelling tanker,  not forgetting a bomber version.
My latest idea is a pre-dated Rotodyne or Heliplane. This would use a 1950s helicopter rotor stack in the central section of the fuselage and the wings cut down to size,  so it could use Lancaster,  Lincoln or Shackleton wings,  engines , landing gear, tail fins and tail wheel.
One step further could be a kitbash using the Airfix Fairey Rotodyne parts although ground clearance might be an issue if you are using the Rotodyne  wings. A bit of weight will be needed to avoid a tail sitter.
Other kitbashing ideas include: using the Revell MH-47E  or MH-53E  parts for a civilian helicopter,  even the V-22 Osprey would make an interesting whiff.

I'm not too sure if I have any of these parts in the stash but if eBay prices are to be believed l could pick up a few bargains.

You could use an Airfix Lancaster B.II kit to make a York C.II.

I did buy the Airfix Lancaster B.II to build the Avro York C.2 but I got sidetracked and add the wings from the Italeri Shorts Stirling  instead. I also  added the vertical tail fin. This provides adequate ground clearance so I thought that the portable stairs from the Mach2 sud Caravelle kit would be ideal for passengers. Unfortunately I had to move out of the room I was renting.
It's on my list of restoration projects when I get rehoused.
Thanks for the info,  Kit also provided me with the picture of the Avro York  C2 on another topic

The engines from the David J.Parkins Avro Lincoln conversion set fit the Airfix Avro Lancaster B.II and so does the engines from the old Revell Avro Shackleton MR.3 with a bit of putty/filler. They also fit the Airfix Shorts Stirling.
I did rather foolishly fit the Italeri Short Stirling with Rolls-Royce Merlins from an early Matchbox Avro Lancaster and the twin tail fins. I think I ran out of putty/filler on that build.
