Maybe, but the regular Sea King could only float with the rotor turning. As soon as the rotor stopped, it'd turn turtle. It may have had a boat-shaped hull, but it was top-heavy in a major way - someone didn't do their sums properly.

I seem to recall someone mentioning, during my time in the RAN, that the Sea King's shape was so they could touchdown on the water to pull aboard large numbers of survivors from ships sunk during wartime combat operations, where winching would be impractical.

You're probably correct. I keep thinking, that with all the "double aircraft" showing up here, it's a pity no-one's done a double-Sea King - that'd probably float all right.
