This one looks REALLY good, I feel intrigued to take it to the hardware stage.  ;D

Might just need a longer cabin in front of the wings for the tricycle landing gear, though. But I like the idea of a recce P-38 with a highly glazed and more spacious cabin. I have to delve through the spares bin(s) for a fuselage, IIRC I still have a Matchbox P-38 somewhere...

Hmmmmmmm.  What other cockpits would work replacing the P-38's central pod?  Hmmmmm...
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Thanks for this idea.
I think there is not much thrill (nor relation to recce subject) in replacing the P-38 pod by the pod of another twin-boomer (like P-61 or SM-91) but maybe I may try with a Bell Airacuda engine pod (featuring a front glazed part)... ;D

I have been thinking about this conversion (and dug out the Matchbox P-38... ) some more, and my favorite central pod currently is the front end of a Douglas A-20J with a sratched/streamlined/closed tail, justa  crew of two. It's very narrow and also has the bonus of a "natural" front wheel.  <_<

Looks a lot like a Focke Wulf 189.
