Okay, maybe too soon, but...

'Echos In The Sky' posted these old pics on Twitter with the suggestion that this may be the eventual fate of the Taliban's new helicopter fleet.

So, how about doing this with a modern US truck and either an ex-Afghan Army Blackhawk or one of those State Dept Sea Knights they just found? The Sea Knights would be particularly suitable since they were reportedly rendered unflyable before being abandoned.

I remember seeing the first photo when the Soviet involvement was still ongoing. Ive not seen the other photo before though.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

The assumption that the "Taliban" are some collection of primitive morons is getting tedious
and demonstrates an ignorance of who and what the "Taliban" are and what they are not.

Which isn't surprising as it just builds on general misconceptions and ignorance of what
Afghanistan is in terms of history, culture and pretty much anything to do with the "country".

It is quite acceptable to take the Taliban Movement as a bunch of savages who can be real morons. This of course ignores the many people in who believe and follow their traditions and the like, a shame and so on. But the reasons you won't be seeing anything like these are perhaps down to a few factors. After years of trucking for US / NATO, such high vehicles might have gone out of fashion. And Gulf Oil money has already despatched  contractors of native English speakers to assess the support situation. A small amount things will be kept for the needs of conducting high tech war in Afghanistan, considering it is not over yet.
