My 1/35  FV4005 Shitbarn. camo is loosely based on an Aussie option in the kit. Did some mods after seeing someone's build on youtube, added external fuel tanks, spare wheels and jerry cans. BTW, I'm not an Armour modeller, so that's my excuse lol.

Top Job.

finished the same kit late last year. As a build quite ok.

Had a good cackle at the marking options, why exactly NZ and Australia would need a vehicle of this capability still escapes me.

In case the Emus started another war?

Good job.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

How would they cross the Tasman Sea though ?  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Terrific build

I really wouldn't want to be in that turret when they fired that gun  :o

Swimming - despite appearances & logic, emus are, in fact, very good swimmers. After the Great Emu War some Emu-Oberkommando documents were leaked which mentioned specially trained Langstreckenschwimmtruppen & included landing sites at Te Henga (Bethells Beach), Ruapuke Beach, Sunset Beach & Ngarunui Beach (there may have been others but their locations were either not specified or had not been worked out at the time the documents were leaked).  The operation, although appearing to be an invasion plan, seems to have included plans to assist the kiwis to rise up & reclaim their islands.

As a tank, the FV.4005 sucked & the 7.2" (183mm) gun wasn't much better (as a tank gun).

The 7.2" howitzer (of WW2), on the other hand, was a very good artillery piece.

This build is unlike the FV.4005 but like the 7.2" howitzer ... Very good!   ;)

Isn't that a Centurion hidden under that HUGE turret?

Love it Smeds 😀
Funny as hell it's a Kiwi one ..it more likely have been a Aussie one ..they've got the money to afford em ..here they couldn't afford to keep the tanks we had going but still none the less..a very good build

Strangely right now on YouTube a channel called Mr Hewes is helping to restore the FV4005 that was outside at the Tank Museum.
He and his lads are working on building a new chassis for this vehicle as the hull used was wrong ..to later a variant .
Its going to be a very interesting series to watch 🙂

I have one of those in the stash, mine is an AFV Club kit. They say to have the bumpers on the edges of the engine deck which is not needed as they were to protect the rear of the tank from the gun on a Centurion, obviously the gun in the FV4005 is a touch higher so the bumpers were not fitted.
The original hull was based on a Mk.3 chassis where as when the turret was put on display the hull was long gone so a much later hull was used. Hr Hewes is doing up a Mk.3 hull with the gun crutch and earth spade being provided by the museum from plans.

The camouflage is all wrong for the period of the vehicle.  The Australian Army only introduced camouflage on vehicles in the mid-1980s.  This vehicle would be late 1950s at best and would have been in Deep Bronze Green, if anything, just as the Centurions were when first delivered.   :banghead:

That build looks great to me. I like that Aussie camo more than others and it stands out well on that huge turret.

I saw the real thing at Bovingdon some years ago. Big is the word. I think I shall follow what the Tank Museum are doing to it now.
Might even be time for a return visit.
