TwinDart Mustang

When a Mustang was converted to a turboprop engine by replacing the Merlin engine with Dart engine in 1968 there was a company called United Props in the USA which saw the potential for this change for the Twin Mustang. This company had bought a number of surplus P-82 Twin Mustangs from the USAF and started converting them.

The only customer they found for them was the Salvadoran Air Force which bought 46 TwinDart Mustangs for ground attacks. The aircraft could be armed with missiles or bombs.

Model: Revell/Monogram P-82 with AIM Dart Engines

Nice, and it even makes sense!

I am just not certain about the HVARs' position so close to the fuselage(s) - upon firing, they'll probably take the props with them?  :o

Rocket firing interrupter circuit so the rocket would pass between blades?  ;)
Really nice work and a great idea.

The Wooksta!

Finally.  I've been suggesting this for years.  I'm honestly surprised that no one has done it before.

Have you noticed 2 details perfectly done by TomZ?
- no belly scoop anymore (removed with the piston engines)
- turboprop exhaust on the starboard side of the nose (seen here from front view)
Congratulations

  Love it !! As ground attack platform, wouldn't it benefit from 3 of 4 20mm cannons ?
