So did I, (see my post) but I wasn't going to give it away. Because I'm a rotten swine!  ;D ;D ;D

Could you transplant a Skyhawks nose?

The tail shifted aft does give it a sleeker, faster look.
Whatever.

PR19_Kit

Would look even sleeker and faster with wing root intakes and a slimmer fuselage.

Ah, then it'd be a Hunter, sorry.................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thanks folks.

Kerick picked it.
I've never liked the look of the Swift.  Something bugs me about it.  Part of the problem was the gap between the trailing edge of the rudder and the end of the jet pipe.  Moving the vertical tail approx 10mm backwards was easy and made a big (IMO) improvement.
I also don't like the nose.  This is harder to fix as it comtains the UC bay.  I may have to get another kit and tackle this.  It needs to be more downward pointing and possibly longer.  The camera nose from the Airfix Banshee   might do the trick.

Exactly the same things i don't like about the Swift.
Needs either what you did with the tail and/or completely new bigger tail and elevators, and nose, IMO.

Glad it's not just me.

Prices on evil-bay are a little high for my liking so i'll wait until i find one at a price I like.  But (like shortening a Victor) i like the look of what I did and want to do it again.

Yup, i've been looking out for a good deal on an Airfix Swift but no luck yet so i'll wait.

Every time I look at this I kick my self. Built my first Hawk/Testors Swift back in the 70s, and 3 more since then and another partly finished, AND I NEVER EVEN THOUGHT TO MOVE THE VERTICAL STABILISER REARWARD!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Fred did this prefectly with his Amatsubame .
Im not a fan of this plane ..the real thing that it..its just not my sort of plane..its not mean enough looking ..like the Viggen ..now thats a cool looking plane but still i do love a bloody good build no matter what it is and when its a mind bender..even better
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
