The Wooksta!

There was a Czech resin in the 1980s that was copied by Pegasus for a limited injection kit.  These turn up and are nice if a bit basic.

Skybirds 86 did a limited injection kit with amazing white metal.  Hard to find now.  Falcon did a vacform in 72nd that is still about. Can't speak for the Planet kit - way too expensive. And finally, I have at least three Magna MB5s that are very nice, one of the best resin kits he did.

One of mine was built from a Skybirds 86 kit, a whiffed PR version.

You can just see how much the main gear legs lean forward, so that the bottom edge of the gear doors are parallel with the ground. With the complex white metal gear in that kit it's almost impossible to assemble them at the wrong angle though.

The build thread's here :- https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=43215.0
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I have an old vacuform kit in the gonna do some day drawer. Probably Falcon.

I've found the post I did about the AZ main gear errors, and I'll re-post it here.

=================================================

While doing final assembly on this MB5 variant I've come across an issue that doesn't seem to be mentioned in reviews or anywhere else, and it may be of interest to other MB5 builders.

The main landing gear of the MB5 doesn't exit the wing at 90 deg to the lower surface, it leans forward at quite an angle. Incidentally this means the bottom edge of the curved doors is parallel with the ground when the aircraft is at rest, see below.

As far as I can see the AZ model doesn't allow you to do this as the socket for the main gear leg, which is moulded into the upper surface of the wing is at 90 deg to the chord line and the leg itself isn't angled to suit the slope of the main gear leg. I've tried drilling the socket out at an angle but then the upper gear door fouls the slot in the lower wing section and the spigot at the top of the leg won't align with the socket.

My solution was to cut off the spigot at the top of the leg at angle to suit and to superglue the whole assembly into the wing slot. Not ideal I know, but not something I could sort out unless I'd made mods before assembling the two wing halves.
