For what is a large RC plane, this UAV requires a surprising amount of ground support - 20-25 personnel, specialized trucks, launch ramp, etc. Granted, it's the military but I was still surprised at the number.

The Russian drones/UAVs suffer from he pilfering and graft that (thankfully) plagues the Russian military. If they could tie a conscript to a UAV for "guidance" they probably would.

Oh i fully believe about the low tech way the russians do things..when i saw footage of their most advanced figther with a off the shelf GPS unit taped to the planes instrument panel that more than convinced me ..ive seen the inside of few russian tanks and yeah stoneage covers it quite nicely so it dont surprise me about their drones..i would love to take a took inside one of their drones and see how RC plane parts i can recognize
If i found Futaba 3003 servos in one id crap myself laughing so hard .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Or reverse engineered copies of them maybe.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Nice Frank.

Cal Fire operated several O-2A/337 Skymaster from 1976 until they were replaced by OV-10s.

Congratulations for this civilian twin-boomer (the part of aviation that I prefer)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Thanks, Tophe!

Jon - the Cal Fire color scheme is pretty appealing. It's too bad my Cal Fire badge decal was unusable.
