Very interested in the scheme you choose.  A few years back myself and a couple of my club buddies did a "challenge" of the 1/72 Airfix Lightning in a What if scheme, one of the crew picked an Italian scheme

Probably going to be either all over "Natural Metal" or Grey with some fairly bright squadron markings.

Dug out the decals in the hope I might get something done.

Modeldecal set 85 will be the basis for the markings

Cockpit is in and one side of the fuselage wants to be a bananna! So not all the fuselage has been glued together so far. Section by section to help ease out the bend.

Well the fuselage halfs are together, the nose area is a bit of a mess. Don't know what the problem is but recently with Airfix Swifts and Lightnings I have had a heck of a problem getting them to close properly at the front

You cannot view this attachment.

Nothing a bit of filler won't fix I suppose. The fact the left hand side was slightly warped towards the front probably didn't help, Gondor's third rule certainly applies here.

That looks AWFUL!  :o

I thought my latest F2A was a bit warped, but it was NOTHING compared to your Alastair!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That was after it was stuck together, I should have used the hot water treatment on the fuselage side to remove most of the bend from the front half. Second, or is it third round of PSR has been started on the nose and tail, the cable duct ends are fitted as is the gun pack for the belly tank. Not much else I can do for now.
