Another night of disruption due to the high temperatures during the night, so I have started working on the Dapol Kitmaster Deltic by removing the chevrons on the nose. These have been sanded flat but still keeps the single headlamp in the centre I'm calling it the DP1A.
There was the Class 23 or Baby Deltic which had a single Napier engine and a shorter body plus a proposal for a Super Deltic so in theory I could try and lengthen the locomotive, which means lengthening the bogies.
I'm going with a purchase by a locomotive preservation club which will be incorporated into the backstory.

We had the very last Class 23 Baby Deltic at the RTC in the 70s, and it was used on the Trib Train for some years, but stupidly they scrapped it as they couldn't get engine spares any more. It was a different Deltic engine to the pair used on the 55s.

Even sillier, there's a preservation group now building a 'new' Baby Deltic, and having to use an ex-RN Deltic engine from an MTB as there aren't any anywhere else.......

AFAIK the planned Super Deltic used the same six axle bogies as the Class 55s, but this IS Whiff World of course.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Dapol Kitmaster Deltic Diesel has had the two main headlamps removed and sanded flat, some of the detailing along the front and rear sides have also been sanded flat taking on a preproduction look.
I haven't found any suitable etching but I am sure that there must be improvement sets available.

I have also added some details in the cab.
