Fascinating article, some elements of which may well appear in a backstory I'm currently working on.   Continue scrolling down, and an article on downward ejector seats appears; also worth a look.

PR19_Kit

They had a couple of test systems from my employers at Orford Ness in the early 80s, but they wouldn't let me in there to install them, but I did un-install them from the other AWRE at Aldermaston where they they were originally installed. They didn't work properly at Orford, and I spent ages on the phone trying to explain how to get them adjusted properly, but they didn't take too much notice.  :banghead:

Late on they took them back out again and I put them back in place at Aldermaston.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
