The wonderful little 1/72 EC-665 Tiger kit from Revell has been out for a few years now, and I've been thinking about what can be made from it aside from just the obvious. The kit itself includes *all* the options in one kit, which gives lots of opportunity to mix and match parts - like putting the gun nose and Osiris MMS on the same airframe.

As I'm working on a model of the very closely related NH90 right now, one idea that came to me was "what would it take to navalize the Tiger?" While the Tiger and Caiman aren't quite as closely related as the AH-1Z and UH-1Y, they are quite similar in role and max take-off weight and can carry more or less the same armament. And, well, they'd both look great in USMC colors...

Then there are the other foreign operators that could or could have bought into the program:

Sweden was considering it, as well as the Apache, back in the day in order to replace the old BO-105 anti-tank helicopters. Nothing ever came of it, but anything will look sexy in Swedish splinter camo. As Sweden already uses the Hellfire missile (from a portable ground launcher!), that would probably have been the Swedish Tiger's primary armament. It's possible it would have been equipped to carry the large caliber rocket pods originally meant for the Viggen and its predecessors, as well. The rest of the config is up in the air, though ;)

A gunship gray version for the USAF (airbase security!)?

Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic - alarmed by rumblings from their great Eastern neighbor?

Israel? (Desert camo and lots of homemade lumps and bumps )

Other ideas?

ok, i was gonna keep this a surprise, but the topic gonna make me say it anyway  ;D

i also have the revell Tiger kit, and im currently in the designphase for a OOB version, with small modifications.
im gonna be arming it with Hellfire missiles (from a revell RAH-66 kit) rather then the kits armament.
i will leave on the Belgian made FZ rocket tubes

and yes, its gonna be a Belgian ComOpsAir version, as an armed multirole support helicopter, to escort HN90TTH's.
its gonna fit perfectly in my "Future Belgian Defence" buildtheme (witch also includes a JAS-39C (later Gripen-E/F when kit becomes available), A400M, NH90NFH/TTH (realworld), HAwk AJT,...)

as for markings, im currently trying to replicate the new BAF Low-vis roundel.

color scheme will be similar to that of the Belgian NH90-TTH

on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

British? We got Apaches to replace the TOW-armed Lynx, but the Tiger is a plausible alternative. What about Turkish?
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<
