In regards to the question whether or not the 1/72 Revell/Frog Shackleton MR.3 can be kitbashed with the 1/72 Lockheed Neptune, I think that I have come up with a solution.
My previous attempts caused a lot of problems as I tried to switch the wings over on each model and the tail ends but compromise is a better option.
I have resurrected the wide-bodied Avro Lincoln and added the two inner Rolls-Royce Griffon engines with the six blades contra-rotating propellers. On the outer engines are the pair of turbojets taken from the Neptune kit.
The tail end is made up of the rear Neptune fuselage,  on top of the vertical tail is a rotodome from a Grumman E-2 Hawkeye complete with the wheels from the main landing gear which forms the rear tail wheels.
Parts from the Aeroclub Avro Shackleton AEW.2 multimedia conversion set were used during the build.
A colour scheme and decals will be sought.

The underneath, bodge on top of the bodge.
