The Wooksta!

The possibilites aren't just limited to the BAC product...

Had TSR2 entered service, would the Russians have built a copy?  If so, what would it have looked like?

Yes, I know about the Sukoi T-6, but what if they'd actually managed to get some dodgy plans?  Given that the awful Contrail vacform - commanding surprisingly high prices on ebay (I know - I've looked!) - is totally inaccurate, would this not be a good basis for a Soviet TSR2ski?  It looks close enough but significantly different - in the same way that the Tu 144 looks like Concorde but is distinct in it's own right.

What about their Chinese allies?  Could they not have bought the licence rights for it?

Then there's the export possibilities for the TSR2ski - Syria, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, India (if they don't buy British), North Korea (bought from the Chinese), Afghanistan, Indonesia?  I like the idea of a Libyan one next to a BAC Lightning F53 in Libyan markings.

The French were also interested in building the type under licence to replace Mirage IV.  Given that the French are major arms dealers, would their licence built TSRs been exported?

Had Australia bought into the programme, they would have undoubtedly built the type themselves.  Would New Zealand have bought a few?

Finally, there's the US angle.  Given that BAC and Lockheed had a tie up for the latter to produce a licence built version for the TFX spec, would the US have supplied the F112 Eagle to it's allies?  Isreali, Pakistan, Canada?  Brazil?  Iran even, given the Shah's 1970s spending spree?

Plenty to ponder on there.

Captain Canada

Good thinking on the TSR2ski....now that would look cool ! Especially if it were done up in natural metal, with all those different shades of silvers......

Sweet !

As for Canada, everybody knows we got ours in exchange for RAF CF-105s !

That looks like it could be bashed from a TSR2 and a MiG-25.  Or maybe the MiG and a Vigilante.
