1/48 driver

I need a 1/48 figure to drive my latest project.  I have a pilot figure that might as a last resort - he's wearing a flight helmet.  I'd prefer a civilian figure.
I've looked at Shapeways, and they're my penultimate choice - but he hasn't a great deal of choice in that scale so I'd wind up with a boat group.  Not horrible - in fact, very do-able, but I'm in a minor financial crunch just now and Mrs. Scotaidh would not be pleased ... and I do what I can for a peaceful life. 
"Do any of you have a source for odd figures?" he asked, plaintively.

I might have something.....it would be military, but either USAAF or German WWII but could be made to look civvy easy enough.
