Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wow. I never got to see the first set of images, even on my PC they don't appear. But fortunately the new ones do and it exceeded my imagination. Fabulous.

That is really amazing.  Is it multiple pieces?

I bet you could sell quite a few of those! Or the files through Shapeways or your own set up!

Ya know when I first saw 3D printed models my first thought was that's not model building..that's just printing one...then ya see what Kris builds and I'm now in the don't freaking care department..printing what he does gets us models no body else makes and I'm still seriously want that Twin engined beast in 48th  ;D

Yeah, one of the keys in printing these is to actually design the model for printing. This way I can overcome the deficiencies of the FDM process (retractions, supports etc.). This however results in a bunch of small pieces that need to be assembled... resulting in an actual model kit.
Which I find absolutely crucial, to recreate the fun I had building these as a kid.

Funny fact: a lot of these late war designs haven't been thought all the way through (paper studies). So there are plenty of design challenges combined with little available information.

Kris

I realized I never uploaded pictures of the actual kit.

Well this form of modelling would be best described as design modelling cause you guys spend huge amounts of hours working on the design of the model and at the beginning your ymtools are a mouse and keyboard.
That I respect that bigtime ..I couldn't do that if I tried and the models you create are amazing mate ..so keep em coming  ;D
