Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have done a bit more to this over the last couple of days. Scratched my head raw trying to work out how to make the landing gear more substantial, but everything I had in the parts bin wouldn't work out, as I wanted to put 4 wheel bogies on the standard legs, but nothing I had worked. The tail wheel and gear needs a rethink too, as what I originally wanted to use, won't do either. I have airbrushed the undersides and fuselage sides medium blue, and the top sides will be brush painted valejo light grey and darkish green camo.I have had to do some more puttying around the radar blister, and where the window is in the front of the fuselage. Radar blister is painted black too, and the ventral gun turret has been prized off and repositioned. About to finish masking the canopy and painting that, and the bomb bay doors will glued in the open position. The tail fin is ok, I suppose. She is starting to look like an aeroplane now. All gun armament will be 20 mm cannon also.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Cheers Phil,
I don't care if in real life it probably wouldn't work, but it works in the dark and dangerous world in my head.

In all honesty Chris I couldn't see why it wouldn't work in the real world.
Just look at those gigantic flying boats the Germans built in WW2 ...the BV 222 and BV 238 ..these 6 engined monsters are the real deal so with engineering being what it is yours is more than possible.

I forgot about those Phil,  I am tempted by a B.V 222, as it would make a good captured aircraft repurposed as a rescue aircraft. I think one would suit shorts sunderland colours and markings too.

Hell dude..that would look brilliant with a scheme like that ..the 222 is more than big enough make the colours look more impressive on a bigger canvas .
Yep..do it matey !!  ;D
Now to find a 72nd scale BV 222 or 238

Revell's Bv 222 is back out.  I did a tape up test fit of the one I was gifted some weeks back and it's almost as big as the Ju 390.  Certainly taller.  Gonna need a bigger box.

As for the Bv 238.  You have two options.  One is a very hard to find and hard to build, fits where it touches, Airmodel vac form. I have only ever seen one in the plastic and that was a good 25 years ago. It can be done, there is at least one build somewhere online.  T'other is a highly expensive and dubious cast resin one from Bird Models in Germany, only available on eBay.  I suspect that the postage costs to New Zealand would be horrendous.  The built up one on his page looks decent, the cast parts...I'll reserve judgement but probably "meh" - ie useable.  His resin is decent, the casting leaves something to be desired.  I suspect that he's used an Airmodel vac filled with Isopon P38 (or the German equivalent) as a master.  Despite reservations and an almost total lack of the relevant costs (£169 the last time I looked and that was before the exorbitant postage fee from Germany), I am sorely tempted with one, if only because it is Blohm und Voss.

Edit: Feast your eyes on this!

Actually, 15 notes to get that lot of resin from Germany doesn't seem so bad.  And given that my Ju 390 was north of that price tag for less resin and somewhat smaller, I'd say the £170 asking price is fair enough.  That's a lot of resin and I dread to think how much the moulding rubber would costs for the moulds on something that size.

Captain Canada

Big and beautiful ! Love the way she's starting to look. Nice work !

Bloody hell Lee....impressive that is and I'll bet it won't go together with out any problems..it's a bloody great big chunk of resin ..they never go together easy .
Also the postage would be worse than horrendous..I payed £26 postage just for a 24th scale car  :o
So this would require a bank loan 🤔 😳
So nope..no monster BV222 or 238 but mate it'd be sweet if you went with temptation 😉 😆
Ya gotta admit ..170 notes is pretty cheap really for something that big and a very impressive addition to a collection 👏 👌

The Revell BV222 has been relaunched and no I can't afford the price but the odd secondhand kit does come up occasionally even the vacform model has caught my attention.
