That's looking very good! Subtle, very much like a Do 328!

Old Wombat

Interesting looking.

I still like the gunship idea & a COD aircraft would be widened - the USN widened everything for the COD role! :o

MPA for a smallish nation could work, too. Ireland/Eire? Something to give those pesky Russian sub's hanging around the undersea internet nexus something to think about?

Ya know Nick your right about this things looks...it looks right ...the props change it a ton visually..I like it 😀

If ya go the gunship route I do like Guys idea ..the US never used the Raden cannon ..not like that matters in wiff world but the Irish air force very likely would and mate it would make a cool sub killer and instead of Paveway bombs ..anti sub munitions  ;)
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Yeah but it wouldn't be a US gunship!

Ideas I'm seriously torn between are an RAF Gunship or MPA aircraft, user still undetermined.

I'm not spending a fortune of Shapeways 1/144 weapons so if I go MPA it'll likely be scratchbuilt weapons.  Though there is a styrene set with Penguin missiles I think. It's just also not cheap.

Kinda leaning towards MPA with the RAF ordering 14-18 of them when the Nimrod becomes untenable, later supplemented by a high end Poseidon force of 6.

Thinking lots of sensors and a radar "dustbin" under the fuselage.  Weapons bay for torpedoes up front and sonobouys in back.  MAD boom extending through the airbrake...maybe Harpoons or Penguins on the wings.

Could also look good as Irish, NZ, Oz, Dutch...
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

You could cheat quite nicely on the gun side of thing's...1/35th scale weapon sets..youncan use .30 cal barrels are cannons...50 cal for being more serious ..the old Tamiya US weapons set would work and it's cheap as hell .
The Hasegawa 72nd weapon sets are also cheap and I'm sure you'd find something there .

Yeah, think I'm fairly well set for guns from other scales that will work if I go that route.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Well it looks like no more progress on this one for a week or so.  Did a minor back injury earlier in the week, which made sitting at the bench damned uncomfortable.  All better now but other things getting in the way, a night kicking off Birthday Weekend, and leaving for a Spain/UK trip tomorrow means she'll have to wait. I might try to get some Milliput on tonight if I don't have too many birthday drinks bought for me.  We'll see.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Here's something that I have been working on using a 1/72 wooden desk travel agent display BAe 146 Flybe, I've changed the engines to twin turbojets and used the rotodome from the Grumman Hawkeye. Parts taken from a A-10.
