Delighted that the long OOP Revell 1/144 AN-124 is being re-released later this year.  This of course has resurrected my long held plan for the upgraded Antonov/Airbus A-450! ;)  ;D  I had originally considered combining two kits to produce a lengthened, re engined version  but, given the complex shapes involved (though I figured out how to do it) it would be a pretty expensive mistake if it all went pear shaped! ;D . However, I did find (cannot remember where now) a picture of a V-tailed AN-124 derivative. That really sold me! I also have a set of R R Trent engines salvaged from a Revell A-380.

I also have the Revell AN-225 (actually saw it in the flesh at Prestwick before its sad demise) and, it will have to be in military colours! ;D . I don't do  civil (with due apologies to all you airliner etc fans).
For those interested, kit goes on sale 31/12/23 priced (pre order) at £42.99 (Jumblies Models).

I was also looking for inspiration for new ideas and, found a variety of illustrations of aircraft in a C-Wing configuration.  I kind of thought ; C- wing Vulcan or Victor!. I will now go and take my meds! ;D

That's good news, the Revell -124 is a pretty good kit, I've done two of them in the past, but not really as Whiffs, just re-painted civvies.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

  While I generally agree with Kit's rule 1, I've decided not to go down that road!! As  I said earlier, I've figured out how to do it but due to the complexity of the fuselage shape and, necessary cuts/inserts, I'm not going down that road. Longer wings probably doable though! Needs nice big winglets too! I'd also considered a T - tail as well.

I'd certainly agree it's a very decent kit but, I wasn't prepared to pay the stupid prices being asked for second hand items. I'd hope the C-17 might appear as well because, I have a yearning to build the CXD-23 Mobile Command Post as featured in the TV series "Agents of Shield".
