Sometimes being "the old bore in the corner" can be really interesting to others. I for one love to absorb new information from outwith my sphere of knowledge as in doing so it may provide to be useful at some point.

I used a lot of the stuff my brain accumulated over the years to quite often blitz the morning paper quizzes at work... would probably also be useful for pub quizzes, if that was my thing... ;)

Once upon a time maybe, unfortunately the few pub quizzes still running in my neck of the woods seem to be inhabited by teams of "professionals"  also the advent of mobile phones being able to access the internet killed a lot off. Some people "have to win"  :-\

Yeah, takes any skill and fun right out of the equation.
There're always folk out to spoil whatever they can, for the rest of us.  :banghead:

Last pub quiz I went to was in a remote part of the Lake District where phone coverage was very spotty. The quiz was a tough one and at least two of the questions had been copied badly from science textbook so nobody had a chance of getting the answers  :-\

I came last with 8/100 and won a packet of Mini Cheddars  ;D

I rarely do pub quizzes, but while moving the APT-E train to its new home in 2004 we entered a quiz at the local pub/hotel where we were staying. Our team was neck & neck with one of the local teams by the end, and the last question was 'What was the first aircraft to raise the World Air Speed Record above 1000 mph?'  ;D

Of course I dived in there with the aircraft, the pilot, its serial number, the speed, the place it happened and the date! The quizmaster looked shocked and said 'I only wanted 'FD2'.  ;D

We shared the crate of beer with the 2nd team as it was SO big!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Some years ago, I used to make up packs of questions for pub quizzes.   It was the ideal excuse not to participate.....It may be a set of questions I set, so I can't take part!

Yup. I became a classic case of "poacher turned gamekeeper" and ended up running pub quizzes in my local social club and a couple of pubs. Much more fun being the Quizmaster than taking part

I used to be a regular in a pub quiz team back in the late 80's/early 90's.  We chose a new name each week based on current events.  Berlin Wall Escape Committee (the week the wall came down) and Yugoslavian Tourist Board (Balkans War) being the only two i remember.
Our nemesis was a team called International Rescue.  We never managed to beat them.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
