I think I am in your camp Phil, initially I was not sure about the colour scheme, but after a couple of looks it does grow on you.

There is a game on Steam called Model Builder. I have no clue about the game's capabilities, never tried it, only saw the demo trailer.

I've seen that too, and was wondering what it was and how it worked.

Don't bother. I got it free last year and all you do is go through the motions of virtual model building by clicking on sprues, clicking to cut parts off, clicking to put bits in place, clicking to paint etc. At the end you've spent an hour to 'create' an electronic tank or aircraft that you can only see online and looks just like everyone elses.
