Kit have you tried flexible plastic graphics tape ?

It's a tape which leaves not residue behind and gives nice sharp lines ...Tamiya makes one which is a low tac white plastic masking tape..it works but I've found it won't stick very well to some primers and again no adhesive left behind .
I've got a crap load of different types of tapes..since I do panel beating and spray painting here I use many types and here's one for you I just remembered..good quality like 3M brand automotive electrical tape .
Even cheap tape will work well ..it's easy to curve
.it's soft so conforms to shapes nicely but strong too.
No residue left to  ;D
That I've used alot on models .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I've re-stocked on the proper Tamiya stuff now, and used that to do the yellow areas on the wings. I should be OK using it for the fuselage stuff too, it's just so complicated and time consuming generating the templates for the tape outlines.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yeah I know what you mean bud...a curtain Viggen and Harrier had me seeing masking tape in my dreams .
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be mighty impressed with this tho Kit when your done . ;D

Euuuuuck, masking.
I think i'd try to draw that on with pencil and then brush paint it.  It's no more complex than some camo schemes.  It's just that the colours are brighter.

But most of the colour panels are decals, and the painted bits HAVE to fit the shape of the decals. I really don't think I could apply the decals, and then paint round them.  :banghead:  :banghead:

NO chance!

I'd never do it that accurately, and anyway my name's not Calder!  ;D

But who will know if it is not precise?

Other than the creator of course.

It's quite a well known aeroplane in the airliner modelling world, and you can bet some JMN will come up and say 'That blue swirl there should stretch further over the fuselage!'  They're like that in the airliner world.  :banghead:

I did Calder's other Braniff airliner, the 727 in the 'Flying Colours' scheme and someone actually said EXACTLY that, but I had to go with the decal sheet I had and the pics of the real thing, and it looked OK to me.

That's this one.

But that was just an opinion, and as we know an opinion is like a c******s.  Every c**t has one.
