The Nomination process starts on January 1st, 2009 to give all models, etc created in 2008 (using the completion posting date) a chance.

Each member of the forum will be able to select up to 5 nominees in each category.  The Nomination process will run until January 15th. Then the nominations will be tabulated and the top five nominees in each category will be listed and each member will get one vote per category with the top vote getters being declared the winners.

So, here are the Categories (these have changed a little from the previous post):

Model Categories:
Best Alternate Markings (based on a real/reel vehicle)
Best Camoflage/Camouflage (depending on where you are from)
Best Kitbash
Best Scratchbuilt
Best Aircraft - Propeller powered (includes turbo props included)
Best Aircraft - Jet powered
Best Aircraft - Two or more wings (can be prop or jet powered)
Best Helicopter
Best Armor/Armour (depending on where you are from)
Best Auto (includes trucks, busses, motorcycles, Mad Max, Car Wars, etc)
Best Ship (includes boats, subs, etc)
Best Figure (all scales, includes Wargame figures)
Best Diorama
Best Sci-Fi
Most Original Concept
Best Use of a Medium other than Styrene (includes cardboard, wood, bread clips - yeah I know their plastic, etc)
Best Raspberry Ripple

No Model Required:
Best Profile (no model required but could add to your chances)
Best Backstory (no model required but could add to your chances)
Best Fictional Country (same as above)

Member:
Most Helpful Member (sent you parts, kits, decals; created profiles for you: helped with a topic, idea, advice, etc)
Most Improved Modeler

***Everyone will need to send links to the threads/Gallery for each of their votes except in the Member Categories.  This will make it easier than if someone just says Mavericks Swedish Mustang or Sisko's Typhoon.

The five Models receiving the most nominations will go into the *Whiff of the Year* Category.

Some Rules:

1. Nominations should be PM'd to me. Do not post them in this thread. You can post them here http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,22480.0.html. However, if I don't get the PM, they will not be added to the count.

2. You can try to coerce others into agreeing with your picks. Remember, the 5 entries with the most nominations in each category will go for the final vote. Please help make it so that I don't have 3 models/profiles/etc with multiple votes and 83 others with a single vote.

3. You can nominate the same model, etc for more than one category. If you feel one model was the best prop, with the best camo, best scratchbuilt and best backstory, submit it in all those categories.

4. Each member of the forum will be able to select up to 5 nominees in each category.

5. The Nomination process will run from January 1st, 2009 until January 15th, 2009.

6. There is no Rule 6.

Use this thread if you have any questions about the process so everyone can have the wisdom of the Academies answers.

Ok, let the nominations commence.

Well, the 4th is almost over here in Utah and only one person has submitted some nominations.

Remember, you can select up to 5 different models for each category.  You don't have to nominate in every category but it will work better if you do.

Also, if you want to do this over several PM's, I have a tracking system to keep record so if you have some ideas but haven't come up with 5 yet or only have nominees for some of the categories, send them in anyway and do others later.

Wow. This almost overwhelming. Maybe there are too many categories?  It would take hours to sift through all of the great whatiffs to find those to post.
