As someone with experience in using the sort of tools we are talking about i'd rather not have the handles badly painted.  last thing you need when swinging an axe at vampires trees or digging a grave trench is paint flaking off under your grip.

Yeah, there's usually enough problems maintaining your grip with all the blood/bodily fluids as it is - loose paint further complicates matters... 

And it makes the cleanup that little bit harder.

You appear to have missed the ends of the tow cable and the spade grips of the M2 HB Also, on the real thing, the inside of the commander's cupola and its hatches were olive drab like the outside of the tank.

I remember reading somewhere, somewhen, that Australian soldiers & tankers used to strip the paint off tools in both North Africa & the South West Pacific, & treat them with linseed oil, because the paint got too hot & was slippery in sweaty hands, & didn't protect the wood from drying out or mould.

He's right, though, & making youself a starkly obvious target is a good incentive to follow the norm.

You are right, of course, that this particular Sherman never existed IRL so maybe if it had, it would have had white-painted cupola hatches from the factory

(FWIW, the only American vehicle from the Second World War that I can remember offhand with white inner faces to the crew hatches as standard is the LVT (4).)

Can I make one small nitpick? The rifle needs a sling.
Ok, two - the webbing and pouches were OD canvas, not leather.
