Warley Model Railway Club have announced that they are to stop holding the big show at the NEC. Among the several reasons given the prime one is the aging membership and the lack of younger members stepping up to manage the event.

I have seen several online comments relating to the lack of interest in younger generations, the high price of trains and setups, lack of space in modern homes, and the increasing costs to attend said shows. There's also the rise in shift work and the need to work extra jobs to pay the everyday bills.

I can see this extending to our Scale Model World, but at least the IPMS Committee is drawn nationally with a much wider catchment for fresh blood new volunteers  ;)

Maybe also the VAST cost of doing anything at the NEC! :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
