If it is they do sell that here..its out of stock everywhere here of course ..so nothing different there and it sells for the lovely low price of $77 up .
I've seen advertised for $89 .99 nz.

Yes it is, there are two slightly different versions to go with each series of the cartoon I believe, I have boxings of each.

Quote from: Devilfish on November 12, 2023, 10:38:44 PMThe only one I had to put weigh in, was my big wing PR version, but that was more filler than plastic.  I had to put so much nose weight in (a big bolt) that I had to reinforce the main undercarriage.

When you say "big wing", would that be the big wing as featured on page 310 of Damien Burke's tome, by any chance?  If so - or remotely similar - would you have scaled it to 1/72, please?  I have a Master Plan to do a stand-off AEW version with a big wing, 3 x external fuel tanks and the fold-up antennae proposed for the Buccaneer (and as featured on Rolead's excellent Bucc on our stand over the weekend), and anything that will save me working it out for my self would be much appreciated!

No, that will be this one...in 1/48

Very little to report as being done. The CMK exhausts have has their first dry brushing done and that is all the work carried out  :banghead:

In other news, two conversion sets from Freightdog arrived during the week, the new Trainer set and a repop of the Air Defence set, I have also managed to buy another TSR.2MS Stratos 4 kit so that or one of it's twins will be one of the next builds/starts, maybe as the ADV bird, maybe not although I am leaning that way. I have also ordered two sets of etch for the Stratos 4 kits from HobbyLink Japan, where else, for the two kits I have that will be built as Stratos 4, should turn a few heads at shows.

Well since the last post the two sets of etch for the Stratos 4 kits have arrived. I have also bought a couple of sets of 3D printed crew ladders for the TSR.2 from a fellow on eBay, not fully decided which builds will get them but I am thinking that as I have two CMK cockpit sets then those should be the kits to get them. I also think that the trainer might make a nice diorama with Student and Teacher takeing their seats although that would mean haveing the canopy raised which will spoil the effect of the large clear canopy so maybe back to the two with the CMK sets which means the Blue Water build will get one set!

Talking of which.....

I have been doing some dry brushing and some detail painting, well painting the seat cushions green. Still got the straps to do as well as the fireing handles. I used one of the 10/0 paint brushes I bought at the Scottish Nationals this year, ideal for this kind of work. More colour tomorrow on both the control panels as well as the seats.

Another update, this time because I glued the CMK exhaust parts together.

The top two items are the flame holders for the engine reheat, not much would be visible further forward anyway, the lower two items are the exhaust between the flame holder and the convergent/divergent nozzle, with the left picture showing the glued parts from the outside, and the lower right item being the same from the inside.

A slightly blurry picture of the finished items

And as they will look inside the rear of the fuselagewhen I get that far.

Been very tempted to start another TSR2 build which will make four in the model room that will be "active"? What I am thinking of is using the recent Freightdog Trainer parts along with ETPS colour scheme with the canopy open and ladders in place for the crew. Of course this is one of the options for my mission Xtradecal TSR.2 Pt2 decal sheet  :banghead:
No panic as yet as I am only thinking about starting the build. I have two sets of the eduard detail sets so I can use the parts for the Pilot's office in both positions. Should be quite atractive when I finish it, which means I have to start it

I went after another TSR.2 on Evilbay the other day but gave up when it passed £40 in Mach 2. Finally, someone closed it at well over £60, and if that's what the will cost, then I'll do an MoD and just cancel the project..

They do go for silly prices at the moment. I have been lucky and at times willing to spend a bit of money, I'm single with no dependants so that help. So far I have these in the stash

I also have one built and three on the go makeing a total of eleven so far. The kit in the top left of the picture is still in it's plastic cover so in mint condition. The bottom two on the left are to be as the cartoon pictures on the box's. I have the two recent releases by Freightdog so that's two from the right side accounted for, Trainer and Fighter versions that is, the orijinal boxing bellow the cartoon box will be the second protatype leaving a total of two to get ideas for, though there is a refueling pack available.....

I have manage to come up with an alternative method of providing marking for the Trainer TSR2. Xtradecal did a Tornado GR.1/F.2/F.3 set, X005-72 with an ETPS F.2T as an option and X013-72 which has a Raspberry Ripple Tornado GR.1 from RAE Beadford. Managed to buy a new sheet of X005-72 but so far not been able to lay my hands on X013-72 so if anyone happens to be able to point me at a new sheet or have either the sheet free or just the RAE Bedford part they can let me have I would be very grateful.
The idea now is for the trainet to be RAE Bedford with the Fighter as ETPS.

I recently managed to get hold of another TSR.2 from eBay for under £40 and it included the eduard cockpit etch and a CMK avionics bay set. So I had an idea connected to my last post which involves my adding the CMK intake covers and the Freightdog ADV radar to the mix. Add a spash of Raspberry Ripple to the mix and I think I have an interesting build of a radar test aircraft.

It's taken me nearly a month to do something with my latest TSR.2 purchase, but I have now started. So with the parts that came in the box I had to do this...

But that is so this can go inside

Not exactly the best picture of it, but you get the idea. I also made sure I get it the right way up

Better safe than sorry. Still got some fettling to do but it's getting there.

Some one must have sorted out the problem I have found.

Thought it might be a good idea to see how wel the nose undercarriage bay fits with the electronics bay in place. I didn't get that far....

I think Airfix got the bay a little on the long side  :banghead:

Off to search for build threads which include the electronics bay.

Well I managed to find a build on Britmodeller that had used the electronics bay in his build, he used the undercarriage set which was also done by CMK and so got around the problem as the nose bay in that is much shorter.

I started cutting up the kit part to match the nose bay I have in another TSR.2 kit

I decided to look at scalemates to see if there were any outlets for the CMK undercarriage set, artscale had one, had being the operative word as I bought it  ;D

So I dove into the stash again to get the rest of the undercarriage set out of the kit it had been allocated to, the new one will replace it when it turns up, and this little lot will get used in this new build.

Crisis averted, other than to the bank ballance  :-\
