An outrigger cargo ship, the "Cali-Maran".  For Tophe.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Tophe Air Cargo DC-6

By SanDiego89

By the early 1970's Tophe Air Cargo was looking for cheaper airframes for cross channel work, and specialized cargo for Sub Saharan oil field exploration.  Mr. Tophe drafted a modification of several surplus DC-6's that had just been retired from airliner service by installing tail booms to allow for a rear opening cargo tail and adding a 5th engine to augment performance in hot climates.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A Racer for Tophe:
Tophe would sometimes take a photo or drawing posted by somebody else, and make his own developments on the theme. More fuselages and engines, for example. He did that to a couple of my doodles. This one is based on my series of designs based on the Napier-Heston Racer.

A couple of in-progress posts: https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?topic=53152.0

Canadian Piasecki H-17B - Memoriam GB - Robert (Kitnut617)

Piaseckis XH-16 made its first flight in october 1953. A crash and some protracted tests made the USAF loose its interest in this giant chopper. But the Piasecki design team would not give up and came up with a plan to build a smaller version. Still the USAF were not interrested, but up north someone noticed the new design - the H-17B.

The Royal Canadian Airforce needed a long range rescue helicopter to serve in the vastness of the country, and the H-17B seemed to be well suited for the job. An order was given and the first of the 15 CH-117 Alberta entered service in 1961.

Vogt RV-141NG
For Tophe (asymmetric, pacifist)
For Kitnut617 (turbopropped, floatplane)

What If... Richard Vogt of Blohm & Voss fame retired to the pacifist island of Tofu, but then got roped into making a non-violent "policing" aircraft to battle the bean-curd smuggling trade and decided to update with BV-141 design? Radar to find them, EO turret to track them, and loudspeakers to shout at them... ;)

OK, that's it.  Done and done.

I suppose I should put the polls together...
