I've not done much work on any models of late, but the main thing left to do for this one by now is to paint the figure for the commander ...

... which I finally managed to do! The model is now finally done:

Excellent, it looks great, and very credible too!

Y'know, looking back at the start of this thread, it struck me that I've seen these turrets on M48s and M1s, but never on an M60, which would be the obvious alternative. That would make quite a subtle whiff...

Very very nice matey 👍 😀 😊
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Thanks, everyone :)

I had considered that option when deciding what to make of the basic kit. One of the ideas I came up with was a US Army M247B1, on an M60 hull, or a Taiwanese one on the basis of the CM-11 Brave Tiger (which is an M60 hull with an M48A5 turret, for some strange reason). Either meant transplanting the M247 engine deck to an M60 hull, which I didn't feel like doing because of the likely work involved in getting all of that to fit properly. Not to mention all the leftover bits that are hard to make a realistic second what-if vehicle from.

However, as one of the things I do still want to build, as I mentioned before, is the Raytheon DIVAD candidate as an in-service vehicle, I would have an M247 turret left over that might get put onto some other hull, possibly an M60 :)

That does look good, I really like the finish
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Outstanding!!
The whiffy vote is going to be very difficult!
