The Wooksta!

Some of my export Heinkel He 112Bs photographed earlier.

Turkey

This was a salvaged one I got decades ago. The three blade prop on this and the Spanish one are the spare 3 blades from the Matchbox He 70 with a spare spinner from the Roden He 111B.

And finally, Austria.  Straight Heller kit with decals from the Kora Fiat CR32 sheet.

Like the Austrian one in particular Lee.   Somehow it kind of looks Soviet to me in those shots, no idea why ?

The Wooksta!

There were some Romanian ones painted in Soviet markings as Yaks for a propaganda film made mid war.

There is something Yakish about the canopy and cowling but the stabs look Mustang and the wings Spitfire.

Good work Lee.

It's exactly that they made me think "Soviet"

Superb, Lee, three great looking builds if I may say so.

Austria is the obvious favourite for me :D but the three-bladed props on Spain and Turkey look very purposeful!

Nice one Lee, well, nice three.

I've always had a soft spot for the He 112 and the He 100. I think it has something to do with the fact that I've seen Ernst Heinkel described as undiplomatic and blunt in contrast to the smoothly schmoozing Willy Messerschmitt. Hitler apparently called him "that pig-headed Swabian" on one occasion. Reminds me of some of the people I used to work with at Woodford, in contrast to the some of the Southerners I used to work for who didn't get the Northerners at all.

Got loads of kits in the stash.

I've been listening to Al Murray and James Hollands podcast "we have ways of making you talk" and Hollands reasoning behind the He 112 being picked over the Me 109 was that Messerschmitt was better at sucking up to nazis and Heinkel might have been a bit jewish.

The Gestapo apparently did arrest Heinkel on allegations of Jewishness only for Goering to step in.

Ooh no, far to elegant (bourgeois?) to be Soviet.
