Can we expect an Aeronavale Seafang.....? Asking for a friend ;)

Cheers,
Mark

Glad you like the build and story, Mark!
Can't promise it'll be my next build but i'd definitely like to build one of the Aeronavale. Their RW Corsairs are my inspiration for that build... and now that you brought it up, it's sounding good in my head so i may end up digging up one of my Seafang kits from the stash and get on with it...

Is it possible to build a Seafang/Spiteful from a late mark Spitfire and an Attacker?

Otherwise, who does kits of either of them, not counting Pegasus?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

AZ do/did both a Seafang and a Spiteful, but it's out of production and can be diffficult to find.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing this one come together   I'm a big fan of the pre-war Aeronavale blue scheme - shame it wouldn't be appropriate for the era.

Not sure about 1/72, but in 1/48, Trumpeter do reasonably good kits for both the Spiteful and the Seafang although some schools of thought say that the wings are too far forward, and apparently the cockpit is a work of fiction! ;D

Brilliant, nicely finished model there! Have you a Spiteful to go with it?

Kit, Like Chris said, the AZ kits are OOP, still i believe they can still be found online, if you're lucky. There's one Seafang left in Super hobby - https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/products/Seafang-F.Mk.31.html

I do have to look at a few more schemes to choose one but i'm more inclined towards a later scheme. But i do have a couple of the AZ 1/72 Seafang Mk.31 and the Trumpeter 1/48 kit so, i can try a few different options.

This is a Spiteful, a Mk. XV to be more precise. Maybe you meant Seafang, the naval variant? I'll be building one sometime soon so, i'll have both types anyway.

You could always do one in a 'Heritage Scheme', if you wanted to... just a thought...  ;)

Oh... They based it on the Development Aircraft that corrected some issues, including wing placement and cockpit layout  ;)   ;D

I'm watching a couple of Rareplanes Spiteful/Seafang vacforms on ebay now, as a result of this of course.

Will I ever learn?

Probably not.  ;D

Yeah, total brainfart on my part there  :banghead: Look forward to seeing it, though a new 21st century quality model of both variants would be good!

I've been letting this one grow on me.... I like it
Just... I prefer the nose shape of the Seafang, with the intake just behind the spinner.

Couldn't agree more, a new kit of both variants would be nice. The 48th Trumpeter kits are good quality but i understand if one doesn't want it in that scale.

I know what you mean. I do wanna build a Spiteful with that intake. One way is to kitbash both Spiteful and Seafang Trumpeter kits but i also have two AZ Seafang kits that can be modified.
