I decided that the vents, or whatever they are, should be replaced so off came the rear plate and the parts from the inside.



Some collateral damage was to be expected. Nothing a little glue can't fix as far as the rear plate is concerned. The vents, the green bits, will be replaced with parts from my IDF Sho't Kal Dalet as that has a different engine and the rear of the tank is different as a result so these parts are not used.



The replacement parts have been glued together and given some identification, C and D denote which sub-assembly they are, the B stands for Bottom so I know which way up it goes which does make a difference.



I found that I had also missed putting some parts in the rear of the hull, that's now sorted, see above picture. I also decided to practice putting the parts together with a straight out-of-the-box build. So out came the FV4005. Same basic idea as the FV4004, mount a big gun on a Centurion but in the case of the FV4005, mount a much BIGGER gun on the tank. The kit being the AFV Club kit will be built almost OOB, the important thing is that the conversion from a Mk.3 Centurion is done by the kit manufacturer so no resin bits to deal with and all the parts should fit together 



Much easier.



The far end part has decided not to play and was rather close to the next one si I added it after the rear of the hull was together.

They're some kind of diffusers, I think, as they sit inside the air exhaust — like on other British tanks of the era, on the Centurion the engine's cooling air came out of the top and bottom of the overhang at the rear of the engine deck.
