Here's the info sheet I mentioned, the relevant engine is the T56-A-10W. The engine weight is 1,853 lbs, the propeller weight is 1,028 lbs., for an aggregate weight of 2,881 lbs. Installed length of 146".
The R-2800-22/-22W of the F7F has an installed weight of 2,359 lbs. and installed length of 73.184".

Ok, it's heavier in weigh and longer. I've moved the prop more than 1 cm forward (need to check exactly).
But the increase in power is enormous! While the R2800-22 had 2100 shp at 2800 rpm, the T56-a-14 has 4591 shp. More than double!

Oh, it'll be T-tailed like the Whirlwind (Halfway or 1/3rd -ish).

How about turning it into an South East Asia Scheme with a nice load on 14 hardpoints as an addition to the A-1's, A-37's, and T-28's?

Power should be "sufficient"  ;D
Do we know which part of the engine is heaviest? Might have to go for TLAR for how far forward to mount it.

And yeah, interesting.

Like this?

Yes, exactly like that.
The one I saw was on a much-modified Dornier 335, but that's the same sort of deal.
Must look into that Harpy build.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
