May seem early to start this thread but it is only 9 weeks away 

Anyway, all being well,  I shall be in the Premier Inn from Thursday through to Monday as per usual and I even have the train tickets sorted.

Getting the tickets was interesting. I think Avanti are my least favourite train company (I think the current Govt' have taken a dislike to them as well  )  but non the less had used their site to organise some tickets to Chester earlier in the week and had gone through the usual agravation with them, so for Telford I thought I'd look at The Trainline site. Now not only was it a fraction cheaper, but remarkably I ordered the tickets around 3:00pm on Friday and they dropped through the letter box at midday yesterday    So even Royal Mail seem to prefer them

And I agree about Avanti West Coast, ordering the tickets originally through the main Network Rail site still works best for me, but there aren't any savings of course. Perhaps I'll give the Trainline a try?

Even cheaper if you have a Senior Railcard. It works for me because of not driving, but I've a few friends who drive but still find the savings when they travel by train offset the cost of it.

That would depend on the Distance. I have just checked how much it would cost me. Fifty-three and change on the way down on the Friday, Forty-two and change coming back on the Monday. That also excludes Taxi costs. A full tank of Petrol should be about Forty-five for me each way, the price may be higher in the Telford area but after a quick check, I find they are not too much higher. Using my car also means I am not tied to a specific time or route.

I have just such a card of course, but most of my train travel is because I like riding on a train.

I'm just planning a mammoth to Scotland next April which is developing more options than I've got unbuilt kits in The Loft!

I normally book train tickets through Network Rail but last time their website went into a sulk so I ordered via LNER. Same price and they gave me points that I can use towards future train tickets.

I have the town centre Travelodge booked for Telford as usual, Friday to Monday. Look forward to seeing you all there.

I used one of them for a year while I couldn't drive. Still made travelling to work more expensive than by car, took more time and was not there when I needed it. I was also colder and wetter for longer when using the train as well.

Time to focus on getting SMW builds done one at a time if you can, once you get one done, hopefully the rest will follow in due course until you hit the point when you realise youre not  going to meet the deadline and you can shelve the build until you get back to the show.

That's what happens to me just before the Scottish Nationals, though one time it was after 1am    For Telford I have the Wednesday and Thursday off then travel down on the Friday so I have so emergency finishing time already booked.
