When I was 12 or so, as a birthday gift I received Academy model - 1/48 MD500 Tow Defender. I was excited - "oow, 1/48! How big is that! Missiles on sides! What a model, it is great!"

It was time, when all I had known about modelling was "Tear parts from sprues and glue them with CA". Result was, as you may suspect, not great...

Now I'm 38, my first MD500 was long lost during recon mission in trashcan and forgotten. Week ago I was at hobby shop for , as usual, masking tape, paints, thinner etc. And...there was 1/48 Academy MD500 Tow Defender on shop shelf. All memories came back in a second!

Of course I bought it to make it better this time, as a redemption build for my first MD500.
And here it is, of course in whiff style :)

PS:

I forgot to mention that I remembered it as a great model which I destroyed with my "skills" then. My memories were false, it's not great kit :)

Certainly not torn off & smothered in CA this time around. ;)

Looks like a very successful 'Redemption" build!

38? There's an old fossil Down Here who thinks you're still pretty much a child. ;D  ;D  ;D

An infant at that age, surely  ;)  ;D  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Well, I'm a bit younger than you, so it's not quite so far back in time for me.  ;)

We could have an interesting discussion about the meaning of the word "bit" in this instance and that's before Kit gets involved  ;D

You youngsters, no idea about the meaning of 'time'.  ;D  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .
