Frank's donation of some wheels for the Triebflugal have got this build back on track.

I also chopped the plastic legs for the small stabilising wheels right off, and have replaced them with some brass jewellery wire, which I can bend to trim the final angle of the aircraft. The wheels are drilled first and then glued in place with gel superglue as well, so hopefully they won't fall off as they might have done with normal styrene glue.

The only problem is the drilling as the wire is 1 mm dia. and the fins and wheel legs are about 1.75 mm dia! It needed VERY accurate drilling!  :o

How about this then? ALL five wheels on the ground at the same time!  ;D

The beauty of using the jewellery wire is that it's reasonably flexible while not being too floppy and the vertical positions of the stabiliser wheels can be adjusted to suit. It worked a treat, and all I have to do now is glue on those pesky fairings that are meant to fit around the wheels. :(

I'm glad the old parts are getting a new life!

The brass wire looks much, much better than the slightly elliptical plastic in the Huma gear.

I would be tempted to skip the clamshells on the outrigger gear - they were so annoying to glue on just right.

Nice work getting that to sit right !

There's not a lot of wiggle Room on that type of undercarriage

Nice job on the outrigger wheels!
I hope that contraption doesn't start to wobble on engine startup! I'd be diving into a ditch if I saw that!

As everyone has said, a Worthy Effort and Result!

It does look VERY unstable perched on the sideboard!  :-\

Luckily it all comes apart so I can take it to shows, once it's painted and decalled anyway.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
