Quote from: kitbasher on April 11, 2025, 10:36:49 PMAs for GB ideas reaching the vote stage, wouldn't it be easier just to vote on those that have been seconded?

A formal 'seconded' call by someone could be the solution, equally a simple 'I like that idea' could be enough.

Theory, fine. In practice ?

The way this site works either almost every proposal would immediately be seconded as soon as it was posted. If it wasn't seconded in 24 hours it would have very little chance of being so. Or you'd get hardly any proposal being seconded and thus one or two people seconding the vast majority of them simply to get a decent number on to the ballot paper. Look at the Wiffy nominations to see what I mean.

Quote from: Wardukw on April 12, 2025, 01:48:39 AMOne question I've been meaning to ask is what the hell is the Ploughshares into Swords GB about ???

I'm guessing its turning some which ain't a weapon into one ?

I think you'll find that explained early in this thread, I.e on page 1 (methinks)

Indeed it is (https://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php?msg=1071710).

Commendably serviceminded of you Sir!
(I was too lazy.. )

Short answer, Phill: Yes, it's turning a non-weapon into a weapon (tractor into a tank (your countryman, Bob Semple, did that ... Sort of)).

The opposite of "Swords into Ploughshares"; which is turning weapons into non-weapons (tanks into tractors, etc.)
Ahhh so I answered my own question without being observant enough to see Pellsons post 😆
I do like the idea of a reverse option with this GB ..that would be a cool twist 😎 😉 😏
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Right I will be keeping the vote open until the 16th, in the hope that a couple more choose to vote. So I'll close the vote and start pulling things together  for Round Two on Wednesday afternoon UK time.

I know you're being distracted by Sally Nugent on BBC Breakfast this morning but tbh Chris I thought you'd have got your priorities sorted and launched Round 2 by now 😉😉😂

So what's the delectable Sally doing today that would distract us Dave? Apart from merely existing of course?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
