The Wooksta!

Now I don't know about you, but...

My Chilean TSR2 is now glossed and ready to decal.  At least the main fuselage is done, the tailplanes can be sorted out later and apart from having to paint some of the xtremities and the u/c it should be ready for the Northern show in a fortnight.

The unit is chosen, thanks to some useful searches on Google.  Grupo 8 used to fly B-25s so they're used to the strike role and I have the unit badge, so they've been selected for the BAC Aguila GR1A.  And they're going to be durty!

NARSES2

Well two are done (Vickers Venom and Mystere) and Me109 is in the filling/sanding phase. Sword model is not a bad little kit - I just screwed a joint up.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Had one of those weekend when the modeling Gods where not on my side, just irritating little crap like mislaid decals (they'll show up), three scratchbuilt instrument panels falling inside the fuselage never to return, enormous seams revealing themselves under primer, glue hitting the wrong spots, nose weight forgotten you know the kind of stuff. So still got three without paint or canopies on yet. Was hoping to have one done by now, for future reference when thinking you can knock off a quick build don't pick kits that are over forty years old.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

The Rat

Well, the hacking/chopping/sawing is done.

Now on to the glueing - No problem.

Reworking bits chopped off - Mild swearing.

Carving - DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!!

Trying to find the time to build a vacume former. If I get thet done, then I can mold the canopy for one priject. The other project is almost completed other than paint. I might cheap out and go to rattle cans for it however, simply because I don't have much time to do a really decient job of her.
Getting back into modeling

Still need a pointer to Argentinian Army markings from WW2. I've a German SPG that'll be repainted and re-marked.
The Peruvian DDH is gone, since that kit has been reassigned to the US Army as a SpecOps support vessel.

I listened to the Clashs' "Sandinista" today does that count?

Oh yeah I decaled two entries aswell.

Argentine Army Markings....

did a quick google and they appear to be a styalised sun marking on the turret sides and also on the hull side, but this might be a flag. Interestingly, they had some neat armoured cars, Bren Carriers, Shermans, etc.. They converted British Crusader is into SPGs and later converted their Shermans with 105mm French guns (like the Israeli's did to their Shermans to make an M51) but unlike the israelis, the Argentine Army Shermans had VVS suspension as opposed to the M51 HVSS suspension. M51s were sold to Chile (the reason Argentina upgraded their own tanks).

I'd go for a sun in yellow on the turret side and a flag (like the aircraft tail insignia) on the side of the hull.

Who'll know anyway. Good with a paintbrush or have you sunny-face decals??

have finally started to finish off my Brazilian P-51, just a bit of touch up painting & decals to go.

have been trying to figure out some kind of military vehicle to do & found a few pics of Chile's ex-Belgian Leopard tanks which are operated in the desert, in a lovely sand camo with brown squiggles, so that's going onto an ex-German Luchs 8x8 armoured car which I will hopefully have chance to build this week. may even up-arm it with the Israeli 60mm Hyper Velocity gun their Shermans had/have

good news is that their vehicles don't seem to carry any awkward markings, maybe just a few callsign numbers  :D

Radish

If tey carried a national marking, it was in the form of a black outline version of the shield insignia used by the Air Force. Chilean Shermans (ex-Israeli M50s/M51s) carried the insignia on the upper turret sides, but it was very small, so could esily be hidden by baggage, bedding, etc..
Got quite interested in viewing the Chilean armour. I've bought a couple of Academy Israeli M51s....a very nice kit, but they'll probably keep the big gun (105mm). But I might do a 1/72nd Sherman with a tiddly (but VERY powerful) 60mm gun. that's a real onethough.
For a "funny", what about something like a Panther tank....possibly ex-French??

Excellent! Thank you Radish.

I think I'll drop in the hobby store to see if I can pick up some appropriate markings. I'm not that good a painter.  <_< And Google around for timely paint jobs.
