I noticed on one of the discussion threads someone talking about a using blue tac to get a a nice camo job.

This is exactly what I used on my nitto neuspotter to get a nice jungle camo. The only thing that I would suggest is that when airbrushing the edges use a fine nozzle on your airbrush as overspray can cause problems if you are looking for a sharp edge as I was.

All around incredible, Sisko!

I once tried the "blu-tac" ™ trick using Walmart's no name brand-----big mistake.

Got to try it again someday with the real thing.

As I said elsewhere on  this site a day or two ago, I intend to thaw out some old puff pastry from the freezer and use in on one of my planes sometime soon.

Very nice Sisko,

I see I didn't covert you totally to L46 - I must post my Special Weapons Dalek sometime - now in it's 10th year of construction - almost finished.

Hello Allen

I ahve not heard of the puff pastry technique before but I would check to make sure that it did not stick to the model. That stuff can go like glue when you defrost it.

You also might want to watch any residue that it might leave behind.

Good luck let us know how it goes.

Very cool...and I can second the "knock off" brand's worthlessness...spend the money for the good stuff!!!

Here is another blue tac camo job on my rafale. This was my first go at this technique.

This is a RAAF rafale using the what if decals from gekko graphics.

The scheme is called spinifex after the grass that grows in central Australia. This is one of those projects that sounded ok but on execution I am not totally happy with the results.

The decals were great though.

Nah yer fine if you put plenty of Flour on first, or give the model a quick brush with some olive oil :D

And Blu-Tac is a bitch to find out here in California, found some Orange stuff at office max which i think is the same.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid
