It makes me wonder, though.  Has anyone thought of doing a tailless delta/canard MiG-21?  Or maybe a swept wing variant instead of a delta?  It would sorta look like a skinny Lightning. . .Hmmmmmmmm. . .

For the swept-wing MiG-21, you'd have to update the Ye-2 "Faceplate".  The swept wing variant lost out to the tailed-delta in competitive flight testing.  As for a version with a canard (albeit with a tail also in a three-surface configuration), consider the Ye-8 prototype.
