QuoteUhhhh Trophe, I love the work you're doing mate, however, one question. Is the cockpit located on the forward part of the fuselage? Just saw the box art and it sorta appears that the Fuselage pod may be backwards. Or I have something mixed up in how I'm looking at it.
Dear Imwfo,
I agree the BMW TL-III has never been built at scale 1, so she is a what-if Luft46 plane, I know. Though I do not like to celebrate Nazi planes, as far as I am concerned (even if I respect the modellers appreciating the 1945 German engineers' genius, even if the orders came from Evil). Well, my plan was not at all to build the TL-III but the fantasy canard asymmetric TL-I//. Maybe I have explained my TL-I// difference on the other topic, with the collection of possibilities, I present it here again, updated.

PS. In my writing, the TL-III 'real' name is TL-I/ \...

I agree as well regarding the Nazi thing. I hate Nazis like crazy. But in my heart of hearts I have to hold to the idea that not all Germans were Nazis.

But I feel that it's not celebrating something as evil as Nazism when you find German engineering facinating. (shoud Egyptians hate France for the Mirage III)For if one were to be so totally incompassing as to say the engineers were as evil as Hitler himself, then you'd have to say that the "One small step for Man, one giant leap for Mankind" is nothing more than his projection of his evil, and not an awe inspiring heroic feat of engineering and bravery that we have come to think of it as.

I agree too. If we have been born in Germany 1920, raised there, fed with propaganda, ignoring the Nazi mass-murdering, knowing just that our mother and sisters were killed by Allied fire-bombing of cities, we would have felt probably different from our point of view here and now.
At (French) public school in the 1970s, I was brainwashed too into appreciating victories of Napoleon over the British, and I understand now that each country has brain-washed its youth into blind soldiers, I have no child and I don't know if that has stopped.
Commanders may be awful while their people were not as bad, and even most of the soldiers and military engineers just obeying and trying to do what is officially commanded and rewarded as being the best for the good.
Now, each of us try to find a balance, between the Christ 'love your enemy' and the death-penalty that may be necessary to stop the powerful murderers. We understand both sides and none is wrong.
And all that is the background of our little plastic toys - modelism was easier  :) when we were young children, innocent... Anyway, I thank the What-if modelers to help me separating old engineer dreams and celebration of actual killing. I cannot be a Realist modeller anymore. Many of us are different and find another balance at a different level, I respect that, while I try to find my way. Do yours and be happy if you can, I hope you can.

I don't know: I just remember the teachers always said the British were the bad, in the '100 years war' (middle-age) then Napoleon wars, while Napoleon won several battles, maybe against other countries. Anyway, it was dishonnest to teach that the British were bad people, that the German were bad people, and the Italian, the Spanish, the Arabic - all except ourselves. I disagree... Leaders shought fight each others on a box ring, without killing young men, grand-mothers and babies. That's my opinion on this bloody today, more than ever. :(     :(
