Here's a 1/72 Hasegawa F9F Cougar, done up for use aboard the Netherlands' carrier, the HrMs Karel Doorman.  One thing I like about the Netherlands, they have one carrier in service at any given time, and they keep the same name for it.

I was originally going to do this in some sort of modern USN paint scheme, but painted it with a new shade of grey to see what it would look like.  I liked the look, and decided to make it RN.  I noticed that I had a bunch of Netherlands decals sitting around, and after looking in my Carrier Aviation:  Air Power Directory book (by AIRTime publishing, this is a great reference), I decided Holland kept their carrier in commision and updated.

any cougar is just fine with me.

like this one a lot - things would be a whole lot more fun with holland's carrier in the med...squadron exchanges with RN, USN, Aeronavale to name just a few!

That's a great idea, Anthony!  Kind of an untapped potential for What Iffery, Holland is.  Where can a person get 1:48 Dutch roundels and other markings?

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I got most of mine from 1/72 NATO F-16's.  Airfix and Italeri make 1/72 versions, and I'm sure someone's gotta make a 1/48 scale one.

The only source I know of (Dutch Decals) stopped making them this year. I managed to buy a sheet or two just in time, and I'm planning to scan them so I can print some of my own...

A beauty Anthony, well done.

Dutch decal  indeed stoped making decals this year but you can still find lots of them in shops. Hannants has several still available and also the Luchrtvaart Hobbyshop in the Netherlands still has them in their list..
Other options would be Astra decals that have one sheet with two dutch F16's.
ESCI has a F 16"Dogfighter" that includes dutch decals.
Revell has the 75 Years KLu F 16 .
Hassegawa has several F 16 kits with Dutch markings and the list goes on and on and on...  ;)

Very nice! Anything carrier-based gets a thumbs-up from me. This is an excellent subject; it looks nice in those colors.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
