COMRADES!!!

It is I, Anatoly, returned from the overly hot Summers in the People's Republic of Michigan.  I usually present some example of the GLORIOUS Soviet Union's naval aviation community, but this recently came out of the factory and I must share this accomplishment!

Presented is the result of collaboration between my OKB, Yakolev and our Chinese allies:  the Yak-145!  NATO gave it the callsign "Farad," but I like to call it the Mirage killer.

Taking the Chinese's design, we have made changes to it to make it more accepting of Soviet weapons.  Modified are the two hard points to the sides of the inlet, as they usually carry bombs, but we saw that two more AAM's could and should be carried there.  More NATO aircraft to be downed.

It is funny to note that some decadent western sources call this the "Laviski" or "Backwards Mig-33," but they have been too busy destroying their own culture to notice how far off they really are.

So, comrades, enjoy this new aircraft!

(Built this from a Trumpeter J-10.  Nice kit.  Got two more to build).

It's interesting when comparing this plane to the proposed single engined Mig-33 proposal how similar the two are.  If I didn't like the kit so much as is, I'd take the canards, put them on the tail, and mount Mig-29 wings on it to make the Mig-33.  I also have a spare Mig-29 tail that I'd replace the J-10's with.  I almost did that with this one (replace the tail that is).

Gotta tell ya: if you drew little pencil lines for tarmac seams, you could've have put those first few pics on the "Planespotting" thread and I would have fallen for it being one of those really bright summer shots of the real thing!

Great job, Anatoly!!!   ;)

As I now demonstrate, Comrade.

In addition to the concrete seam lines, I added tarmac stains, cracks, etc. on the tarmac, some even in the shadows as darker versions.

Hope you like.  Download it now if you can as I had to resort to Photobucket image-linking for this image, even though it is a relatively small file!

My wife asked why I was doctoring up a pic of a real plane so I'd say you did an excellent job, Anthony!

Comrade JHM, that looks truly GLORIOUS!!  You do not have bottles of vodka heading towards your propoganda outlet, no no no.  You have large tanker trucks full of Mother Russia's finest!  And bread.  One can never have enough bread and vodka...

I gotta say, if you come across a Trumpeter J-10, pick it up.  It's a fun kit to build.
