Ironically Terry has actually posted pictures of that Typhoon here before (a long time ago mind) - I know this cos he told us the nose came from a felt tip pen!  :D

But thats the first time I've seen the oft referred to VSS, brilliant!

Radish

Typhoon twin-seater from Italeri with a few bits added to the cockpit and seat...just bits of rod and strip, an extended nose via the top of a felt-tip pen, and some external changes....wing-tip tanks, fin radar using thick strip and one of the wingtip pods split, and where the intake under the nose is awful....I added plastic card sides and a couple of intakes from sprue. 1/48th.
Oh, and a radar pod from a 1/72nd fuel tank.
sprayed white, markings hand painted, decals from the kit and AeroMaster.

The VSS is straight from the box Airfix, except the rear full is cut off, the fin is a surprisingly good fit on the upper surfaces, tail planes added as fuselage stabilisers, no outer floats therefore, rear of the hull is blocked off with thick plasticard and detailed with bits from the kit, as is the fuselage....just used bits from the kit.
(I love it when I can use all the things the manufacturer provides, whether intended or not!)
Black spray paint, Max Irish decals, numbers from spares, silver pencil chipping and mounted over a sea base.
A quick-build of just a few days.

ho hum :ar:
