Here's an old Heller/repackaged as Testor's 1/72 Mirage 2000-A.  I built it, and had no idea what it was going to be, until I got a Heller Mirage IV, and it struck me.  I had these Chilean markings from some Hunters that I'd forgotten about, and liked the look of the new Chilean F-16's coming into service.  I wanted to do something similar with these Mirages, but wanted a darker scheme for use over water.

This Mirage 2000 is armed for short range interception, with six AIM-120's, and two AIM-9's.  For longer missions, two drop tanks would take the place of the wing mounted AMRAAM's.

Now we´re talking! :P
I got to say, many people here wanted that aircraft, but not many enough to choose it instead of the F-16....that Mirage looks just beautiful mate
Only one thing, maybe if you want to do it in the future, most of the chilean planes are using now low visibility marks, except the tail blue.
Best regards and congrats

No low vis Chilean markings, otherwise I would have used them :P

Actually, I do have some low-vis markings, but they're just a black outline of the badge, and not the low-vis grey that's on the F-16's you guys are using.

ok, fair enough....maybe if you do it yourself, the testors stuff will be useful.
cheers   :tank:

Wow-----if you cut and pasted the model image from that top pic against a real aerial-to-ground view, there's no way I would have believed that it was anything but a real aircraft.

Phenomenal painting!

That's one well-done Mirage anthonyp and I love those Chilean markings! I'm actually kinda glad you didn't have the low-viz ones...I like the splash of color the ones you used add!

No need to hide your originality... It is better (according to me) to feature what is uncommon on your model ^_^
Congratulations.
PS. Is the black nose an invention of yours for the 2000? It was very famous on the IIIC and IIIE, but I don't remember having see it ever on a 2000? Another originality, great... :P

Awesome I love those blue Chilean birds.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

I'd like cornbread with my chili! Oh, not that kind of chili you mean the one with the "E" at the end   :dum:

Really great looking build, Love the paintjob.

Again, thanks!

The nosecone is actually a shade of blue.  It's either Dark Sea Blue or Dark Specular Blue (or something).  I wanted it a shade of blue rather than black.

Damm, that is one sweet Mirage. It looks so right in those colours.

Personally, I think the ful colour roundels look much better than the low viz ones. Especially, as they are pretty small in relation to the aircraft nyway.
