I've been getting 1/700 ideas again

First up is my hasty plan for the IJN Ise.  The back seaplane deck gets converted to an AH-1 storage/service/ arming facility.  The middle two turrets get removed  and that deck area gets a big crane and becomes a place to store LCVP's between assaults.

Next up is some idle doodling with MS Paint.  Basically, I was looking at how frelling big the IJN Shinano was and I started thinking about giving her the ole Essex treatment with an angled flightdeck.  So now we have an amphibious command ship and an aircraft carrier bigger than anything short of the US Super carriers.  Throw in my Zipang whiffer destroyer and we're off to the races!

Well, those are my current thoughts, we'll see what I actually get stuck into once I get some modelling room back.

I like that Ise.  The upper works need a little more modernization, maybe, but the idea is sound.

Yeah, I have to do something with the pagoda assembly as it was so quickly abandoned even before WW2 started.  I also have some ideas vis a vis a light aviation ship (Read as Harrier Carrier) in the form of the Mogami.

EDIT: I also am starting to plan out the potential Shinano airwing, circa early 70's/80's.  So far, the Phantom/Skyhawk double team seems like a natural.

I had a thought on the pagoda, so I figured I'd mention it and see what people thought.  Hmmm....Photoshop.  Okay, option 2.  This is what it would look like with an Iowa style bridge.

And these are the dastardly plans I have for the HMS Hood.
