Take two kits that can't be finished as intended; six tins of Humbrol paint numbered 125 to 130 - and a few drops of flat black; and a big stack of leftover USAF and USN/USMC decals, and what do you get?

Well, I'm not too sure, but I'm halfway towards finding out!

Hill-2 actually looks pretty good on the flanker! kinda reminds me of the russian knights scheme a little.

I seem to recall a picture of an Su-27 that flew with a Hill 2 like camouflage scheme....I think it was in a past issue of World Air Power Journal, I'll have to dig into the library sometime tonight.......

*G* How about a Su-27 in USAF hi-vis markings and "ED" tailcodes?

*Shudder* It'd look AWFUL - all that white paint... Can you say "brushstrokes"?

I'm finishing this thing up with the original Saturn-Lyulka engines, and decals from a Hasegawa F-16 - dunno which option yet, either a block 40 or a block 50, since that's what I have decals for.  I'm still contemplating how to solve the missile rails issue - I've got a bunch of F-16 pylons left over, and possibly some Super Hornet rails...

One day I'm going to get a Heller Su-27UB, and perform some major surgery - wingroot chord extension, possibly wingfold and canards, and F100-PW-229 engines from an F-15 kit. Decal scheme to be determined, but I want black tails on it...

You misunderstood me, Sebastian.  Hill 1 or hill 2 scheme, but with hi-vis markings all the way and "ED" tailcodes. *G* We shan't say who at "ED' is using it. ;)

That's a valid combination? Never seen that before. (And I don't think I own any color US roundels that aren't already earmarked, or the wrong size...)

I'm a little miffed with myself for getting the angles of the scheme wrong - the edges of the darker color should be forward-swept - but I can't seem to figure out a better option. The spine just ahead of the speedbrake is pretty much the only place you could put the second set of national insignia, and I still want the front end to be fairly prominent...

And hi-viz for me, expecially when Edwards' jets are involved, means bright white with international orange wingtips and fins. I may *possibly* be able to get that right, with a big helping of luck, a new brush, and a lot of thinner, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it...

Well, the F-15D, "Glamour Glennis" that Yeager flew for the fitieh anniversiary of his first supersonic flight had ED codes and wasn't that color.  For that matter, neither was the "Celestial Eagle" or some of the other test Eagles I've seen there.  Still, I can see where the impression of dayglo orange on white came from, esp. with the aircraft of the Test Pilot's School there.
