I think it was decided that doing something for the sole purpose of trying to upset others was neither a kind nor mature thing to do, and would only add to the intolerance that we all bemoan.
Also it's a logistics nightmare, where do you draw the line when you are purposely trying to be mean spirited

I've been looking for an excuse to build my 747/ shuttle combo. I was thinking of painting the 747 as Air Force One, and doing the shuttle black, and calling it 'the Black Chicken' for Bush to run and hide in space the next time something big goes down...........

I was thinking of doing an FW-190 or an ME-109 in 70's disco theme.  Would look like the background stage to "The Dating Game" TV show.

Exactly! We weren't planning on literally upsetting anyone, just doing what whiffers do best - pick on JMNs and perhaps laugh at them a little. No, no dioramas of jews and easy-babke ovens, but disco 109s, Airfix Spitfire Mk.IXs (the dimensions are SO WRONG!!!!) and Greenpeace Supermarine Walruses (MY IDEA!).

I yanked the thread, because after thinking about the realities of the contest, that it had no bearing on the initial idea.
 Offending a JMN? no problem with me...if you want to rename it so, I'm in...but after reflection on how far this could spiral downward, I pulled it off the board.

Reminds me of a co-worker, went to a fancy dress party dressed as a KKK member, with a friend (who happened to be black) accompianing him in chains.  He nearly got his lights punched by the people at the party    (he got the idea from Blazing Saddles)

But like others said, I never actually thought the offend-o-rama was ever really gunna happen.  When you look at it in the cold light of day its actually not that cool an idea.

Blowing off my current project to read this board gives me an idea. Instead of an Offend-O-Rama how about a Mangle an Me-109/Fw-190/P-51 etc. GB?

A buddy of mine did that for halloween a few years back, went into the bar as a KKK dude. Twisted feck that he is.....

Anyway, when enough people gave him poo-poo (with an english accent) about his 'costume' he agreed to take it off. And underneath ? He was dressed as Hitler !
